About Megan Maguire, PsyD

Dr. Megan Maguire is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist (PSY 36284) specializing in
comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations with adult and geriatric populations,
post-head injury evaluations with individuals 12 and older, and cognitive remediation.
Her clinical interests include healthy brain aging, neurodegenerative diseases/dementia,
vascular disease/stroke, epilepsy, and movement disorders. She also conducts
psychological and pre-surgical clearance assessments for bariatric and
spinal/peripheral nerve stimulator surgical candidates.

 

Additionally, Dr. Maguire has advanced clinical training in individual psychotherapy
specializing in the utilization of a variety of therapeutic modalities to promote lifestyle
change and healthy brain aging, as well as targeting emotional eating behaviors,
trauma-focused therapy/PTSD, anxiety disorders, functional neurological disorders
(e.g., psychogenic non-epileptic seizures [PNES]), and adjusting to chronic or terminal
illness.

 

Dr. Maguire’s education and training includes a B.S. in Psychology and Social Behavior
from UC Irvine. She completed her M.S in Marriage and Family There from CSU Long
Beach where she specialized in trauma focused therapy while completing her training at
the Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center. Dr. Maguire subsequently completed her
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University with specialized training in
neuropsychology from top-tier institutions, including UCLA Semel (pre-internship),
Harbor UCLA (pre-internship), and Kaiser Permanente (pre-internship). Dr.
Maguire completed her residency training at Penn Medicine Neuroscience Institute,
followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship, specializing in neuropsychology and
health psychology, at OC neuroPSYCH.
